I personally have experience in this area and the nightmare lasted about 8 months and about $12,000.00 dollars later I was rid of the little buggers. For good!

How to fix a roof leak

In this case I was fixing a new roof that was leaking. See - How to find a roof leak in a new roof or old roof.

On this particular roof I had discovered that rain was running down the roofing nails.

So I measured the approximate distance to where the leak was occurring and started lifting up all the shingles near the ceiling leak.

And I found some nails that had been nailed down too much destroying the shingle which allowed the water to drip down.

Replacement Windows Reviews and Ratings a Dirty Little Secret

I was replacing a window sill for a home owner the other day and she said she wished she had never replaced the old wooden windows with new replacement windows because the new ones are colder.

I thought that was a little strange and I have come to find out that is true with the windows in many homes and businesses purchased from some very well know manufacturers.

How to level a floor or bathroom floor without using self leveling compound

Submitted by admin on Thu, 08/30/2012 - 16:37

I was called by a home owner about doing some upgrades to their home in preparation of selling it. Their list included a number of small repairs but the big one was to tile the bathroom floor.

I took one look at the floor and I said Humm.  There was no way to tile could be put down without first leveling it which was no small undertaking.

From the door to the wall behind the bathtub was eight feet and the floor dropped down about 2.5 inches. (See the before image).
